Opinions are flying about the Netflix movie: "Bird Box." Some of them are enjoyable to read while others are just enough to make you want to scream. Why do people think we want their detailed opinion? I don't mind a read this, or watch this because it was good. But I really don't need a play by play on why you thought this was a horrible movie as you are giving People think because they didn't like it, they can persuade you not to like it too. I saw it. I liked it. I think you should watch it too. Now I could get into all the reasons why, but I think maybe you should form your own opinions. Interesting concept huh?

Somethings you may want to think about when you do. It's a Netflix film. Don't expect high end special effects to wow you. It stars Sandra Bullock. That's a big get in my opinion. I saw an advertisement that called her a "powerhouse." I don't agree with that terminology. I would say she does a fantastic job of making us believe she is afraid and we should be afraid too. Now if you don't like to watch things that make you afraid, keep in mind this is more of a suspenseful movie. I don't think it's traditional scary like some might say. I do think you can see some things coming and that protects those of us who watch scary movies in the middle of day (like me).

As you watch and decide if you like it or not, I ask you to remember the series Lost. That is one of the things that came to mind as I was watching. I loved Lost so this movie and the things it fails to reveal are not that big of a deal to me. I enjoyed it for what it is: entertaining. I am hearing a lot of complaints about the ending. The ending was one of the parts I really enjoyed. I like bows. It can be a messy one, but I usually like my movie endings without cliffhangers.

I hope Netflix gives us more original movies and series. The competition is rough in the television world. Finding something good to watch isn't always easy. I am sure it's really hard for all of those with very high standards. I love to review books and movies, so I have to be the first to admit I do like letting a person know when I think they shouldn't waist their time on something.
With that I always remind my reader, it's only my opinion. I usually keep it short and to the point because I still want that person to consider their own thoughts. Everyone is different so what entertains me might not entertain you.

As much as I hate reading from those who tear something apart, I also don't care for those who hype things up. The anticipation of a movie someone has built up, only to find out it's not what you expected can be hard to handle. So watch, enjoy and tell your friends: thumbs up or thumbs down. Save you ridiculous comments like "it's the worst movies you've ever seen." Maybe I should give you a list of bad movies so you can compare. In my opinion you haven't seen enough.
If so, Dirty John is one you just have to check out. It's perfect for those who listen regularly and it's a good starting point for those who have never listened before. It's a true crime story that pulls you in, with unbelievable details. You can't stop listening because you can't believe what is happening. You wonder why a mother of three, married 4 times falls for a man within months of meeting him. She supports him, buys a house for him, and very quickly marries him. I say it's suspicious from the start. If reading those details doesn't peak your interest, maybe you need to see it. Bravo is now airing Dirty John as a limited series starring Connie Britton, from Friday Night Lights and Nashville.

I have only watched on episode. So this blog isn't about telling you how good the television show is. I was wondering if Bravo could pull it off. I was worried it would feel more like a Lifetime movie. Well the Lifetime feeling is there, but it is supported by more accomplished actors and that might make the difference. It remains to be seen. I enjoyed episode one and will be going back for more.

The actual true crime began in 2014. That's when Deborah Newell went online to find love. She said she wanted someone to share her success with. That's where she found John. Deborah's story starts off pretty normal. Many people are making profiles on dating websites. It's when her daughters start to question their mom's new companion that things get interesting. Deborah basically ignores their concerns. The girls tell her there is something about John that they don't like. They insist he is not who he says he is. Deborah doesn't want anything taking away her happiness. She thinks everything is perfect.

Of course the truth finds a way of coming out, and eventually things don't add up for Deborah. Unfortunately the truth puts her in serious danger. This man she thought was perfect, is anything but. He is violent, controlling, conniving and very persuasive. Trying to get away from a man like this could cost Deborah her life. Those around her saw it from the start but Deborah was in denial. Her willingness to believe anything for love, is what will connect views to Deborah's story. Many people can relate to being blinded by love. In this case, Deborah's desperate need for love and happiness lead her down a trail of tragedy.

There is a disclaimer that the program is based on real people but some things have been changed. This is always in the case when real life stories are put on television. I am hoping the producers and writers stick close to the podcast. What Deborah Newell went through is interesting in itself, it doesn't need to be dramatized for a greater affect. When it's all said and done on Bravo and you think you need more Dirty John, turn to the podcast to satisfy your curiosity.

With all the content available networks think the thing to do is return to the original successful television series. Find those old actors, bring them out of retirement and try to make an old thing new again. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't. With Will & Grace I think it still works.

I didn't think I would watch again, but one night with nothing to do I turned it on. It's the same old show, with older actors, a newer story line, and definitely a new confidence to push the envelope on a "regular" network. My younger children would like to watch., but with what I have seen so far, the jokes are not for children. This is a comedy that is trying to compete with cable networks, Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime.. you get the idea. It's raising the bar on the jokes, and using language I don't usually hear on NBC before 9. I am not offended in the least, but I imagine some of you are.

It's funny. The acting at first seemed a little rough. Jack and Karen still have that chemistry, but Will & Grace had to work out some kinks. I would have been fine with the Will & Jack show, but I guess they thought Grace was necessary so she is doing her best to fit back in. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't.

A great addition to the show is ROSS from Friends. I guess we don't call him Ross any more. David Schwimmer is fun and funny. He is Grace's love interest and since her character needs a little help from time to time, in my opinion, I am glad he is there. Remembering all the Friends characters, Schwimmer wasn't my favorite, but he always did a solid job then and he is doing it now.

If you need a little comedy in your life, turn on Will & Grace. I know some people can't take the politics. It does get a little too much sometimes, but that's when I hit delete on my DVR. Not every comedy gets it right every time. I don't belly laugh at every episode, but I do belly laugh at more often then not. It's hard to find a good comedy. On the cable and streaming services I often run into funny, but it can be very adult heavy. Will & Grace will throw in some surprising jokes and language, but that's probably when I laugh the hardest.

Someone said Laughter is the best medicine, and I really believe that is true. We need to laugh, probably more than we do. I know I could use more laughter in my life. While I search to find more funny I will lean on Will & Grace. If you have a minute, you should too. There is nothing better than sore abs, and a hurting face from too much laughing.
I tell you Cancer can really get in the way of blogging. With the said it doesn't keep me from watching all my favorite shows. So we should talk about Anatomy. Greys that is. Who is still watching. I am a loyal fan and all I can say is I can take some of the show and I can leave other parts. We will start with the taking.

After all these years we finally see Owen with a smile on his face, and I think the show is going to turn that smile upside down. So maybe this belongs in the leave section. I just want the man to enjoy his life for a while. I love his little made up family. But we all know he has always wanted a baby of his own, and if Leo's mom gets it together she is taking that baby away. Teddy's baby will make him smile, but then we have to look at Amelia's smile turned upside down and I don't know if I can take that. I was just starting to like her again.

Loving Joe and Alex. Such a cute little couple. I am not liking Alex in that stuffy suit and tie as the chief. I hope that position is passed on to someone who looks better dressed up. I love Alex looking rough. I do love the addition of Link. He is nice to look at and I like that he has a history with Joe so that can add some layers to her and Alex's relationship. Now does Link need to hook with Meredith??? I would say I could leave that. I had read an article Meredith is going to end up with the guy from How I Met Your Mother? He was better known as Ted Mosby on that hit show that run its course, and now he is joining this hit show that just won't quit. Mer and former Ted went on a date in one of the previous episodes. I know it seemed like it wasn't going to go anywhere, but I did see a little chemistry. Also they met by mistake. They actually thought they were on a blind date, when they were supposed to be on a blind date with someone else. So can I say Fate!!! All these dreams of her with Deluca... what is that???? I think I can leave that storyline, but she keeps dreaming about him, and he is rather dreamy.

Then there is Maggie and Jackson. For some reason I can not get on board with this relationship. I am not sure why. I think I wanted him to be with April. I am very story the show decided to get rid of Kepner. I really liked her character and her chemistry with Jackson. I don't see much with Maggie. I just feel like she is such a good surgeon and she is smart and beautiful and she doesn't radiate any of that when she speaks. I feel like she is always confused, always trying to figure things out, and can't make a decision without consulting a dozen people.

The new interns are ok. I feel like introducing a new male intern to hook up with the other new male intern is fine, but I hope this storyline leads to something that adds to the show. I just don't want to see the shows writers and producers put in a gay couple to replace the gay couple they lost with Callie and Arizona. I want them to make this pairing mean something.

That's all I got on this one right now. Feels good to be back at the computer. Hoping you're still watching and maybe making time to read my thoughts. Let me know what you think and what you're watching.
Maybe some of you can't relate because Owen just isn't your character on Grey's Anatomy, well he isn't mine either, but I can only take so much. It's time for Amelia to jump off a bridge, or woMAN up and act like a normal person. I am so tired of all of her garbage and now it is stinking up Owen who has been bleeding since Christina left. I just want the man to be happy. I think with all he has been through he deserve that. Don't you Shonda Rhimes??? Fix Owen by getting him away from broken Amelia.

Speaking of broken: Jo. She gives Warren the "leave me along, I am tough as nails" speech. Please stop!! Jo should hold hands with Amelia when she jumps off the bridge. I get it, she has had a hard life. The bottom line is she didn't trust Alex to tell the truth and it turned into a misunderstanding and Alex loosing his shit on DeLuca. So in this most recent episode we have Jo feeling sorry for Jo. She blames herself for Alex going to prison. Alex is responsible for his actions, but Jo did initiate the avalanche. I have said from the beginning I really don't like her and Alex together. So I hope in the future she can learn to really trust, and relax and start enjoying life. I just hope that she does all of this without Alex.

I am still Team Meralex (i need to work on this..it sounds like a laxative). I would love to see Meredith and Alex form a stronger bond that goes beyond friendship. They have always been there for each other and I think it would be when the show decides to end its run that they end up together. I guess only time will tell. In the meantime I am loving her concern for him, and his need for her support.

I am also enjoying Richard and his people rallying around him. Bailey is on my last nerve, but I am not having her jump off a bridge just yet. She upset me when she was giving Warren attitude, and now Richard. It's just good to see Richard pushing back. I don't dislike the new girl trying to implement change. I do enjoy her character and hope she sticks around for Arizona. Since Callie moved away Arizona needs a little excitement so she doesn't blend in with the wallpaper.

I do love my Grey's Anatomy. It's hard to believe I am still watching after 13 seasons. I am a loyal fan. I still think there are stories to tell with these characters, and the medical cases are still entertaining. Keep up the good work Grey's people, just need some little tweaks here and there. I know toxic people and situations make conflict and conflict makes tv life more entertaining. I guess I would say just spread out the toxin. Owen has had enough. #greysanatomyseason13
My stomach still hurts today because of what I saw. If you don't want to know -- don't read any further, because we are going to have to talk spoilers.

The Walking Dead Season 7 premiered last night and it was violent, it was gruesome, it was emotional, and in my opinion it was very well done. Instead of opening with who dies from the wrath of Negan, it kept you guessing for quite some time. You'll remember last season ended with Jeffery Dean Morgan's character putting Rick and all of his friends in a semi-circle. Negan forced them to stay on their knees while listening to his crazy tirade about how things were going to be from now on. To prove he was now in charge, he told the group he was going to kill someone and that's how Season 6 ended. It would have been easy to show us who he killed right in the opening, but instead the episode made us wonder who was really gone, who's sniffles and screams we were hearing in the background, and was there still a chance everyone was getting out alive? No chance, in fact those who made are still alive might be wishing they were dead.

It took about 15 minutes before we see Negan select his first victim. He took his bat, complete with spikes, and crushed Abraham's skull. Abraham wasn't my first guess, but I can see why he was chosen. Abraham was big and strong and he got the job done, but he hasn't always been the easiest to control. I could see Negan seeing him as a potential threat. When you look at a group, trying to pick out people to bully, Abraham doesn't really fit the stereotype. In fact, I think Abraham has squashed a few bullies in his time. With that said he made an easy target, and Negan took aim.

Abraham's death was hard to watch. The screams of the others as they see their friends brains splattered everywhere was hard to hear. Negan used so much force during the beating that you see Abraham's blood fly onto Rick's face. That blood remained on his face the entire episode.

Courtesy: AMC

You see close ups of the others and the tears slowly rolling out of their eyes. They don't say a word, but they moan and cry as it's all happening terrified of what will happen next. The camera focuses on Rick and through his eyes you see the story unfold. Through flashbacks you see moments Rick had with Abraham and the others. At first I thought the flashbacks were telling us that Negan killed everyone. If I had time to think about it, I would have found that hard to believe, but since I was too busy holding my breath and screaming "oh no!" in my head, I just kept watching. It took the second death for me to look away.

The blow Glenn took to the head was absolutely terrible. We watched him struggle to say his final words to Maggie as she watched the life slowly leave his body. His death was not quick, and it was not painless. Negan made sure he suffered. Before he died he told Maggie he would find her. It was a touching moment for a couple who deserved a better ending. It's too bad viewers had to get over his almost death in Season 6, only to have to deal with his slow, gory, tragic death before their very eyes at the opening of Season 7. At one point you saw just his hand twitching, talk about brutal. And then we had to watch Maggie sob with snot going everywhere. Then the rest of his friends/family carry away what was left of his body. All I can say is, God Speed Glenn.

It was a good start to the newest season and I am eager to see where it goes from here. I am hopeful we don't have to hear too many of Negan's speeches. I love Jeffery Dean Morgan, but I don't need to hear his say the same things over and over again. I get it, he's in charge now. Everyone belongs to him. I look forward to more great moment from JDM, especially they day someone takes Negan out. I hope his bat with the spikes plays a pivotal roll in that moment.
I have talked with friends of mine who love it, but unfortunately some of the television reviewers of the world are not on board. One of them went so far as to say it was bad. When I watch I think: This is Us could really be Us, bringing us believable story lines that people can relate to. I guess that same observation could make people change the channel. It all depends on what you want to watch. Frankly I like a little bit of everything. This show slows things down for me. It shows me situations that seem real. It makes me feel sadness and struggle, but I also laugh and smile. For an hour on Tuesday nights, or later in the week because I DVRed it, I enjoy watch I am watching.

I know in this day and age it might not be enough. People are turning to cable (me included) to find the television series that WOW. The great actors with the over the top story lines where you don't breath the entire hour because you are so caught up in what you are watching. That is good TV, but I don't think this show should be criticized for trying to wow us in a different way.

The storyline is developing and the acting is there. Mandy Moore is doing a great job. She plays the mother in two different time periods. One she is young and struggling with triplets. The other she is the grandmother dealing with the sins of the past and trying to control the future. Sterling K. Brown is one of my favorites from Army Wives. He plays Randall the adopted triplet. His biological father was on drugs at the time of Randall's birth, so he left him at a fire station. The firefighters brought him to the hospital where Mandy Moore's triplets were being born. One of the triplets dies during birth, so the parents (played by Moore and Milo Ventimiglia) decide to take Randall home with their other two babies. The show jumps back and forth between the time when the three are little to when they are all grown up. Each show so far has ended with a little twist that keeps us thinking, how did they get there? What will happen next?
The negative reviews I read got caught up on the twists, claiming if there is no solid story then the twists will lose their effect. They also criticized the show for not having similar qualities that other shows have, i.e: characters with super powers and crimes to solve. I can agree a little with the first, a show can't be built on twists alone, but I totally disagree with the second. This show is different and I think that's ok. If you can make a minute in your schedule you should check it out.

It does remind me of NBC's Parenthood. It moves slower than most of my other programs I watch, and there are a lot of characters and things going on. After it is over I am still thinking about it, and I like that in a show. The reviews I saw did bring back terrible memories of the articles I remember reading about Parenthood discussing how that show was ways on the bubble when it came time to renew or cancel. Parenthood lasted 6 seasons. I watched all of them, some of them twice. This is Us has Parenthood potential.
That's one requirement of a good show in my book. How To Get Away With Murder on ABC still twists and turns and I am along for the ride, shaking my head at every new reveal. It a show I wasn't even going to watch, but many seasons ago a friend said "You should watch..." and now here I am. Very glad I did.

This season started a while ago, but you know my DVR is collecting my shows until I have more time to watch. This weekend I sat on the couch and binged a bit. Sometimes that is easier then remembering what happened week to week. This Thursday we found out who was pulled out of Annalise's house...not the dead someone, but the alive someone. As always if you don't want to know you should stop reading right here. If you are up for a little spoiler action then continue...

It did throw me for a loop and at this point I am not sure what to think. Now only do they do the big reveal, but they tell us the woman pulled from the house on fire issue PREGNANT. HMMM... now that is another twist. Along with that surprise, we see how Annalise is going to get out of her latest conundrum. This woman really is a genius. Or is she a psychopath??? I really do go back and forth. Puppet master is another title I would give her. Can you believe how she gets everyone to do whatever she wants??? She is going to use her so called drinking problem as a way to get her license to practice law re-instated. It is a great plan. Even her old girlfriend said the same. She does drink a lot. Is she truly an alcoholic? Maybe, but she sure will pretend to be if it gets her out of trouble. The bitch in charge of her at the university (i.e. actress from Dexter) better be watching her back, because you should not mess with Annalise.

I am really underwhelmed with all the sex talk. Why must we mention sex every other segment of the show. Do focus groups tend to focus more when the word SEX is yelled at them every few minutes? This show has more to offer than sex, and adding in gay sex doesn't make it more interesting. The gay couple does add a dynamic to the show that other primetime dramas may not have, but I don't need to see them having sex or fighting about having sex with other people. I think Oliver said it best to his ex-boyfriend Connor "have as much sex as you want, just quit pushing it in my face." Thank you Oliver.

So Frank is still on the run and he's killing people along the way. He is one talented guy. Like Annalise he is also smart, but he leans a little more psychopath to me. I really have to wonder what Laurel sees in him. She keeps trying to find him and save him. He killed the guy that Annalise hired to "find" him. And by find I mean kill. Now he kills Bonnie's dad. The history therre is Bonnie's dad molested her as a child. Frank felt he was jut giving the man what he deserved. It shows Frank still has a heart, and next week Bonnie will find Frank and we will finally find out what is going on. Well not really, because we never really know what's going on.

The other players of this program are kind of boring me right now, but with the twists and turns they could be the topic of discussion next time. Oh and before I go Laurel is the alive person pulled from Annalise's burning house. Laurel is pregnant. I have to guess with Frank's kid, but that might not even be true. We can clearly see there is a connection between Laurel and Wes. The way this show jumps around in time, Laurel may have a second to sleep with Wes before this is all said and done. So the baby's daddy is not really set in stone. Truthfully having a psychopath for a father is never a good thing, so Wes may be the better outcome. But we do love a good DNA test...

If you aren't watching this one, you know what I say... make a minute. This one is worth it.
Kevin Can Wait, the new Kevin James comedy on CBS really made me laugh today. In fact I laughed out loud. I don't know how many times I have done that lately. I know we all remember James from King of Queens. I guess that was thought to be one of the problems, according to the experts. Who is going to let Kevin into their lives as someone other than Doug Heffernan? Me that's who, and I think you should too.

I read the research. I treat my new shows like I do my electronics. I find out what people are saying. What they liked and what they didn't. What I know from other television seasons is: it's very hard to predict the outcome of a comedy show. I decided to give this one a shot. Kevin James isn't just Doug Heffernan, the man has been in several movies, so why can't he be retired police officer Kevin Gable? From what I have seen he can. The writing is funny. The episode I watched used 2016 references so that parents and kids could relate.

Now I realize it's early in the season and other comedies have let me down. I may fall in love with this one only to find the rest of the viewing audience didn't (i.e.: The Grinder). That's okay. I am not an expert on television shows for everyone. I can only tell you what I liked and make sure you know it's worth you "making a minute" to check out. In our busy lives we don't have the time to sit and watch, when the watching isn't worth it. So I watched this one for you and I am disagreeing with some others that said they didn't like it. I liked it a lot. I smiled, I laughed and I don't need Leah Remini to move in next-door to make me like it more. Kevin James and his new CBS family can carry this one on their own.

Let me know what you think. Are there other comedies I should be checking out?
I don't want to bore you with all the reason's why, I just want you to know I am back. So what are we watching???? My DVR has been full for a while, and I am ashamed to say it's been deleting shows because I can't keep up. On top of that trouble it has now started taping things with digital interference. So it's time for a new DVR, but not before we talk about what I have had the chance to watch.

Let's start with HBO-is anyone watching The Night Of??? I really liked it. The season is officially over, and I am not sure if I am thrilled with the ending, but the show kept me watching, while thinking at the same time. That is one of my criteria for a new show, I do like shows that demand my attention. This one centers around a Muslim college student who is accused of a crime that he says he did not do. Right from the get go, we don't know if he did it or not, so it is exciting to see how everything plays out. You see him change from a shy student to a man trying to survive prison while awaiting trial and its outcome. They take you to the night of where a woman is stabbed multiple times at a scene he admits to being at, but can't remember what happened there. He will testify that he knows he did not kill her. Worth checking out if you can make a minute in your schedule. If you are like me that is getting harder and harder to do.
#HBOTHENIGHTOFWORTHCHECKINGOUT

Something else I always watch this time of year is Big Brother. Reality TV is not my thing, but this show has had my attention from it's first season. It started when I worked for a CBS television station. It was the talk around the water cooler at work. We had to promote it, and we had to interview the participants via satellite every season. Now I no longer work at the station, but every summer I turn it on and watch a group of housemates battle it out for $500,000. This year has been a little painful, but my man James is still in the game. The comps are fun to watch, but the people have been getting on my nerves from the beginning. CBS even brought some old contestants back, and that still didn't keep my attention. I think executives better brainstorm and come up with a new and more exciting version of Big Brother for next summer, or this fan may not be tuning in. Until then, I will stick with this season to the end, because it' very hard to look away from a train wreck. #BIGBROTHERCBSNEEDSSOMESERIOUSHELP

TNT is always a good place to tune in during the summer. Major Crimes, Rizzoli and Isles, and Murder in the First are all good shows if you like crime and drama. I love the characters and while crimes may start to all sound the same it's the personal stories of the people that always pull me through. Rizzoli and Isles is having it's series finale next week and I am very sad to see this show go. Hopefully the actresses who play the lead characters will go on to other successful projects. #TNTKNOWSDRAMA

It is good to be back, and now that it is almost fall you can bet I will be blogging a little more. I see lots of potential in the television world. Can't wait to get a new DVR so I can start filling it up again. Getting lost in television shows is the best way to temporarily escape the parts of life that can really bring you down. It's my break from reality. I hope you are getting that much needed break too.

Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00977648990465923616noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6556147252246733844.post-68393448339349454572016-02-11T18:56:00.001-08:002016-02-11T18:56:39.038-08:00So Excited for TGIT on ABCI don't know about you but I am so happy the winter break is over for my favorite shows on Thursday night. I have really been missing my Grey's Anatomy, Scandal and How To Get Away with Murder. Murder is my absolute favorite, but Grey's is where my loyalty lies. No matter what happens with those doctors, I can't seem to stop watching. I guess that is the whole train wreck theory, you just can't look away.

The promo for Grey's caught my attention; very intense. Meredith gets attacked by a patient, and it appears to be very serious. I am interested to see how Alex handles everything. You know in my other posts I have made it clear I would not be disappointed to see Alex and Meredith form a much closer bond then just being each other's person. I just think Alex and Jo have been kinda off lately, so it may be time to change things up. I feel a vibe, but maybe I am just reading into it. Anyone else feel it??

As for Scandal, I will be ready for the return, but not that excited. I always complain about this show and continue to watch. I do love where it started, and at times I have liked where it went. I am just not sure where it's going. It may be time to put this one to bed, but I am still hopeful for a surprise season. It happened with Revenge. I thought that show had jumped the shark and then it came out of nowhere with a new spin filled with energy. I really enjoyed the last couple of seasons of Revenge, when I was pretty sure in the middle of it's run it was over. I am reading about a 6 month jump in time. Shows always use this little trick to reset the stage. I am not out, but I am on the fence. I hope what's left of the Gladiators and Olivia Pope can show me a good time, like the old days.

Then there is How to Get Away With Murder. I tell everyone I know to watch this show. It is so well done and always keeps me guessing. Before the break the show ended with Annalise being shot, because she asked for it. All part of her master plan to protect her students and herself. When we return another secret will come to light. We will learn more about Wes, and his mother who we believe killed herself. But who is Wes' mother, and what is the real story, and why does Annalise know his real name--<span style="background-color: white; color: #101010; font-family: , "helvetica" , "arial" , sans-serif; font-size: 18px; line-height: 24.84000015258789px;">Christophe?

It will all come together and when it does I am hopeful we will not be dissapointed. This is one of those shows that has continue to captivate and suprise me. Now it's only a few seasons old, so there is still time to go south. I am a loyal viewer, so if it takes a turn for the worst I will probably go along for the ride. I will tell you if you are not a How to Get Away With Murder Fan you should make a minute and get on board. Trust me you will enjoy the ride.
Winter Finale Time stinks. That's when all my favorite shows take a break, leaving me with nearly nothing to watch. I guess it takes the place of re-runs. Where back in the day a show would slide a re-run every now and again, now shows run all new episodes and then take a break for a month. The month of December is a busy time so I get it, but with the invention of DVR it's all about tape now, watch at your convenience. Well I am conveniently bored and I have nothing to watch!

Let's talk about how some of these shows ended before the December hibernation. First my favorite, How to get away with Murder. Annalise has the best plans! I mean she can get out of anything. Now this one did cost her a bullet to the belly, but jail might be worse. The way that was set up, I thought it was going to be more of an accident, where one of the students just has a gun that goes off. This was better, and something I didn't see coming. The set up was perfect, everyone wanted to kill her before that moment. It was fitting that Wes pulls the trigger. Now she tells him to shoot her in the leg, but he aims a little higher. He is angry and I can't wait to see where this goes when the show returns.

When it comes back we can expect it to focus on Wes. I am not sure how I feel about this move. I think you have to really love Wes, and I don't. I hope the show keeps it interesting with the other characters as well. Making it too Wes heavy could be a mistake. We did see in the Winter Finale episode that Annalise knows Wes' real name, and she knew him before he came to law school. So is she related to him? Was she a friend of his mothers? What does she know about his mother's death? And is he going to law school where she teaches because she wants him there?

While you think about that, let's talk a little Grey's Anatomy. The winter finale did not wow me. I feel bad for Alex who can't seem to get his timing right. The last episode before the break showed him proposing to Jo who is trying to break up with him. I know people want to root for this couple. Jo is so insecure, and she just gets in the way in my opinion. I really do think the writers should let him find happiness with Meredith. It may be weird for the people who love him as "her person," but for those who believe your partner is your person, it sees right to have them be together. The rumor mill is pushing Meredith and Riggs, but I don't know if I can get behind that. Right now Meredith is supporting Owen, who hates Riggs. Speaking of Owen, that's another character I just don't get very excited about. Now he is having all of this trouble dealing with Rigg's arrival at the hospital. We will have to deal with the fallout of that, and I am not sure that I care. Bring Christina back to take him away-please.

Love love love Maggie and her sex (relationship) with the intern. Can it last? Who knows, who cares, it's so fun to watch. Her character is a breath of fresh air. I really enjoy her on the screen and how she pulls everyone together because she doesn't have all the baggage weighing her down. I also love that Callie is dating the doctor that killed Derek. I really loved all those tense moments with Meredith over turkey. It was perfect. Seeing Meredith face those emotions was great! I still feel like her character is stiff and disconnected --even after all of these years.

Since we are talking Shonda Rhimes drama- let's talk about Scandal for a minute. As I have said in so many of my blogs, it really only needs a minute. I have said it before and I will say it again, is it possible that this show is going nowhere fast, and I am still on the train to nowhere. Why am I still on this train? What am I waiting for? President Grant is a weirdo so far this season. He moved all of Olivia's stuff, treating her like he owns her. It was uncomfortable. He had a psycho look in his eye. I didn't like it. For those of you rooting for Olivia and Fitz I think you need to give up, because it just isn't hot anymore. Millie is shining brightly, and that's better than whining drunkly. Papa Pope is still pushing buttons, and Olivia finally got a new sofa. Hmmm All I want for Christmas is the old Scandal back. WRITERS: start connecting some dots, and making this show watchable. Fitz and Olivia- on again, off again, doesn't cut it. He is a jerk, and she is a selfish brat. It's time to be Gladiators again. Please someone take out the white hats and put them on.

Winter finales, Winter blues. I think one leads to the other. In the meantime I will find some joy catching up on my cable shows. In cable land there is now such thing as Winter finale. Homeland and Affair are still steaming it up, and getting it done.
The loyal General Hospital fan waits and waits and expects something big and then like a balloon that you let go before you get a chance to tie it, we are left deflated. Left to realize Jake Doe knows he is Jason Morgan, and he found out in the middle of nowhere standing next to Carly. No excitement, no jaws dropping in the pews of the church at his soon to be wedding, no looks of shock and horror at the lives that are forever altered by this revelation. Just a man and a woman standing off the side of a highway discussing DNA. Deflated!

I am curious to know how the rest of you long time fans feel. First the actor who originally plays Jason leaves us for another soap. We survive that disappointment and we fall in love with this new guy. He has been doing an excellent job, and I do feel like he is "like" Jason. It's good to see that we are going to be connecting all of these people back together since Jason's death. I think Sam said it's been 3 years? So at first we mourned him, then we saw the light. He was coming back and eventually all would be right in the General Hospital world. Well all I can say now is GH writers better have something absolutely fabulous written for what comes next, because they could have done so much better.

I know it's very cliche'. Carly running into the church to stop the wedding. I guess these writers said "let's try something different." Maybe they should have had more people are the car crash site off the side of the highway. I was still waiting for Elizabeth to confess. I just hate what is happening to her character. I am very interested to see how today goes. How will Liz respond? Will she act totally suprised? How long does it take for Jake now Jason to put it all together? Liz and Nickolas knew the entire time. Elizabeth's character may not be able to recover from this. She kept a secret for her own personal gain. She really doesn't have a defense that is forgiveable.

What is with Jake's anger? He is now mad that he knows who he is. Sorry your identity didn't come all organized with a birth certificate in a nice little box, like a new cabbage patch doll. You have known for the beginning something was off, I mean why does Nickolas know and not want to tell you?? How can one character be so smart and so stupid at the same time. Jason's street smarts should have kicked in from the very beginning. Then he tells Carly she is wrong. There is no way he is Jason. How about taking a minute and remembering all the freakin' flash backs you have been having for the past how many months. Sam on the back of a motorcycle, flashes of a wedding, seeing memories of little Jake. He didn't even take a minute to say "hmmm, that explains the flashbacks." Instead he insists he feel nothing. We saw his exchange with Sam at the Floating Rib on the night of his batchelor party. He feels a little something.

Maybe Elizabeth and Nickolas will end up together in the end. Those two have always been the better match. Their personalities are very similar. With Hayden on the canvas I am not sure how quickly that will happen. I am sure fans would like to see Liz suffer a little. What about Patrick and Liz? Was that hug between the bride-to-be and her "close" friend at the church a little foreshadowing. Patrick will be alone and so will Liz, so maybe they will have to join families to keep everyone happy. Whatever happens they would need to take their time with that union.

Here is an idea, just bring back old Jason (Steve Burton). That way we have two Jasons. One for Sam and one for Liz. It's a happy ending for everyone. I am sure the writers can scribe their ways around that one. Actually with what I saw Friday, maybe they can't. That may be just a little too complicated for this crew. I will tune in today, just like I have for the past 20 years, and see how the the GH world handles Jake Doe's real identity. Let's hope there is a little more excitement in the second day reveal.
The group we have followed from the beginning is getting less and less, and it has been a while since we lost one, until last night that is. I would warn you that spoilers are on the way, but my guess is that's why you are here. We should get right too it, just pull off the band-aid. Glenn is dead. It was a very shocking moment and he didn't go peacefully. We saw what appeared to be his insides, being ripped out and feasted upon by several walkers. I say "appeared to be" because as we have learned from watching many television shows over the years is, things aren't always what they seem.

Ok maybe I have been reading too many tweets. That's where fans are in denial. The ones who believe Glenn was able to make it out. They think more people fell on top of him, and he was actually the middle of that zombie sandwich. So it's someone else's guts you are seeing in that close up shot. At first thought, you have to say, "What that is crazy! Of course he's dead, he fell into hundreds of zoombies." Your gut reaction was there was no way Glenn could have gotten out of that mess. But then the optimist inside you, "the Glenn lover," if you will, says why the close shot? Why not go wide and show us his whole body?

Maybe that's just writers and producers keeping their options open. I am also reading the tweets from those who think Maggie will be pregnant. A little Glenn to give her something to live for. I don't know how I feel about another baby growing up in this situation, but Judith seems to have done ok. It wouldn't be bad idea, it would give Glenn something to come back to. (ok I will stop feeding all those optimists)

The thing I appreciate about the Walking Dead is in the world they created people have to die. It sucks, and it really sucked to see Glenn go, but it's all part of the story. We see people die every episode, but we just glaze over. We didn't really know them, their character wasn't developed. Then we experience a loss like Glenn's. It brings us back, reminding us what a good show this really is. The writers made us love Glenn. So his loss was tragic for us. Some of us cried. I couldn't believe my eyes. We still have to see Maggie and Rick, Carol, Daryl and Carl react. Then there is Michone. She let him go. They split up, against what her initial instinct. I think Glenn's death will affect her very deeply.

On another note, Daryl breaking protocol and driving off. I am not sure what that was all about. I hope this isn't foreshadowing. Daryl questioning what Rick wanted and doing his own thing. Now he did eventually turn back, but I am wondering if it means more defiance to come. Then there is Rick surrounded in the RV. I don't know about you, but I really like Rick in all my episodes of the Walking Dead, so he better get his ass out of that RV. I seem to think if he just ran fast, and made some moves, like I tell my kids on the soccer field, he should be able to get out of there. Only time will tell. Can't wait until next week.
They have put a lot of time in, and they hate to give up, so they continue to watch. As they do, they hope it gets better, and sometimes it does, but when do we say enough is enough. Throwing in the towel on our favorite show is not an easy decision to make.

This brings me to a very important question: are you enjoying Scandal? I have my towel in hand, but have yet to throw it in. My first problem is I can't stand that everyone does so much to protect President Fitzgerald Grant. As a citizen of the United States, as a woman, as an intelligent person I am so disgusted by these characters that continue to throw themselves under the bus for a man who clearly does not deserve it. Now you may argue with me, but come on!!!! You will need to spin this a lot to convince me.

So this Olivia loves Fitz is so boring! Now before this past Thursday there was a promo that made me think...hmm maybe there will be some entertaining twists and turns, but after watching Thursday I am still not so sure. So throw another Gladiator into the mix to help Olivia when she is down. She actually went down to save President Grant. That man I told you earlier did not deserve it. He is slick and savvy, ready to help Quinn and Huck save Olivia and keep Pope and Associates up and running. We will see where this goes. But it is a good move.

The whining from Cyrus is not a good move. He is a grown man quit making him whine. All he does is talk about everything he lost, everything he gave up to make Fitzgerald Grant the president. Ok we get it. I think his character should have left the scene a while ago. After his husband was killed, he should have taken his newly adopted daughter and started living his own life. Ah, but that life isn't good enough for Cyrus. He wants back in, he wants to help, he will get back into the White House any way he can. He teams up with Millie and you think that is going to be a good thing, until he starts whining again. So either make him swallow his whine or have someone kill him please! He has made this bed he lies in, this life is the one he wanted, so he got screwed instead of doing the screwing. Live with it Cyrus. The scene with him begging the president to come back to work was embarrassing. One because I am not a Fitz fan, but two because Fitz does owe him, and the fact that Cyrus has to tell him that is bull$%!t. Have Cyrus find a way back in to be a bad ass for the president, or make him a Gladiator. They could use a seasoned player on the team.

Don't get me started on the secret mission that Jake is working on that warrants a visit to Olivia's father in prison. Why oh Why are we going back here. I am hoping very soon we start connecting some dots. Not a good move, but I am willing to wait it out.

I guess the fact that I am talking as much as I am about this show says maybe I should stick with it for another minute or two. I made a minute when it started and watched a bunch of episodes on demand so I could get caught up. Back then I was glad I did. Now I just feel like the main characters need to make a decision and stick with it. I just watched the preview for next week and I am seeing another turn of the cheek for both Olivia and Millie. Millie who wants to support the husband of her children, while her child is watching, then goes behind his back and works on his impeachment. Olivia who wants the world to know she is the president's mistress when the press is watching, then wonders if she is making the right decision when she is by herself.

I feel she is questioning the relationship, the timing, and where Jake fits in to the entire thing. I don't think I have to tell you, I am team Jake. But I don't know how much that matters because this is a story about Olivia and Fitz. I love that they brought a woman in for Jake. It's about time. If he is going to stick around, he needs to have someone to take his attention off Olivia. It will be interesting to see her reaction next week. Great move!

So if you are still making a minute for Scandal I am right there with you. I am considering jumping ship, but have too much faith in Shonda Rhimes to work this one out. It's rough being the faithful fan. I do think the Gladiators will get it together and remind me of why I love this show. They just need to work hard and fast.
So I am checking out some new comedies #Grandfathered #theGrinderI am desperately looking for a good comedy. Let me bring you up to speed on where I am with my comedy watching. Modern Family (loved for years, not loving as much, still has it's moments), The Middle (loved for years, still loving, but wondering where can it go from here?), The League (didn't love at first, then loved, not loving as much, this is it's last season- feeling it should have ended last season.. oops!) That's about it. I have started watching Scream Queens, some may call that a comedy. That debate is for another entry. Right now I just need help finding a funny comedy. Is that redundant?

I decided to turn to FOX. I didn't know how I felt about this at first, I actually don't watch much on this network. Nothing personal, I just don't find anything worth my time. This time I am hoping things will be different. I will say it's too early to tell, but I did get a taste of things on Tuesday night.

The line-up has two of my all time favorite guys: John Stamos and Rob Lowe. Stamos in Grandfathered, plays a playboy who learns he has a son and that son has a child, making him a grandfather. It's a change of life with plenty of ups and downs that Stamos is trying to get used to. Stamos is trying to be funny, and at times he is, but I am not sure I am enjoying the rest of the cast. I do think it will take some time to make the ultimate decision, but for right now I will say Stamos is still Hot, his show not so much.

Then there is his follower Rob Lowe as the Ginder. Executives at FOX probably should have swapt the order of these two shows. In my opinion, The Grinder is better. Lowe is still Hot, and his supporting cast does a great job. Fred Savage is funny, and so is William Devane! Imagine that all the way from Knots Landing, and most recently 24, Devane is a hoot playing Lowe and Savages father. This show centers around Lowe as an actor in a law show, to an actual lawyer. Lowe uses what he remembers from dialogues in episodes to help his brother and his father win over clients and win cases. Savages response to his brother's ludicrous behavior is excellent, and it just continues to fuel Lowe's character sending him even deeper to his own world.

When you make a minute to laugh, check out the Grinder first. It is worth your time, then if you feel you can make another minute, cue up Grandfathered. It is being said both are sinking a little in the ratings, but I do think that can turn around. Being funny is not easy, because everyone's interpretation of funny is a little different. I appreciate the effort of both of these famous men and their co-stars, but the jury is still out on whether they will remain on my DVR Series list.

Still crying during Grey's Anatomy after all these years. That's Shonda Rhimes, and her staff, for you . That woman just keeps getting it done. I am embarrassed to say I think I watch/watched every show she has/had a hand in. Well I am not really embarrassed... I mean think of all the awesome material for my blog. (Do I need to warn you spoilers are coming?)

Anyway lets talk episode 1. I have to say I waited until week two because I wanted to see if Grey's had the stamina for this race. She came out of the gate strong. I loved all the stuff that was going on in the first episode. I told a friend, I really think I see the show returning to some of it's roots. We have Meredith and the girls back at the old house, hanging together, drinking together, and just having fun. We also have Bailey back in charge, just like when she ran her intern crew. We love Bailey in charge! We are really feeling the love right, which feels better than all the crying I did last season over Derek. I know you are saying, "Derek Who?" I think that is a good thing. Time to move forward. Since I haven't seen that third Meredith/Derek baby yet, it's hard to know exactly how much time has passed. Usually when you see the kids you know. I have a feeling Sophia and Zola may be heading to college!!! Ok, maybe that's an exaggeration.

The first episode also had a great medical story. The medical parts are sometimes over the top, but it just helps keep the show's quick pacing. Everything goes a mile a minute, and we just have to hold on as we go along for the ride. As people are running to surgery, working to save lives, the other personal dramas just go right along with them. The perfect example is when Bailey was giving her speech to the board to become Chief right in the middle of surgery!

Episode 2, and the show is holding it's own, actually stepped it up a notch and made me cry. When I watched Parenthood, I think I cried every episode. Parenthood is one of my all time favorites. So crying is not a bad thing. Now I am not Jimmy Smits dying on NYPD Blue crying. I mean my eyes were puffy for days. During Grey's I am just tearing up a little at those awesome moments. April and Jackson break my heart. It's just a sad situation, and he is trying to let go. I think it is nice that she wants to fight, but I have to go Team Jackson on this one. She left him, twice. I don't know what she can do to win him back. I am hoping there is a good coming back together story, but with this show you never know. Big characters dies, or leave, and good relationships fall apart. This one could go either way. I do know I don't want her whining and declaring her love every episode so she better come up with a better plan.

Bailey realizing where she went wrong during her first day as Chief made my eyes blurry. I do love mean Bailey, but I would rather see smart, confident Bailey. Realizing what you can do better is a great thing, and owning up to your mistakes is another. Bailey will need to make better, respectful decisions, but still needs to be mean. She can't run a hospital if she is apologizing all the time. I loved that she went to Richard to find her way. It's a great constant that this show has always been true to. I am so glad that guy didn't die when he stepped in that puddle and was shocked by electric current. I was a little nervous at the end of the episode .."did you all see her pop that pill in the bedroom???" I hope that wasn't foreshadowing. I know she had trouble with anxiety and that may be all it is, but I thinking we should watch for something.

So what's to come? Looks like Alex and Jo have a bun in the oven. That's going to be interesting. Also, Jackson and April will be working it out or not. Amelia and Owen are still trying to find their way together. I really would like to see a stronger storyline for Owen. We saw Amelia shine last season. Hopefully the Grey/Shepard children will make an appearance. You can't keep having tequila parties with all those young children in the house. But as I said before, maybe they are all off to college.

If you were on the fence about whether to tune in for ANOTHER season, I say make a minute. I am still enjoying the ride. With some of the terrible new shows I have tried to watch, it feels so good to see my old friends.
For the first time in many years I made a minute to watch a show on the night it premiered. I have to say it really goes against my MO. Normally I record it, then if it gets a lot of hype I watch. Sometimes it takes me forever to watch because I am just not sure if the show is going to last. There is nothing I hate more then a show that doesn't make it more than one season after I have invested my time and fell in love with the characters.

I really did think this show felt just like Blacklist. It a story of a woman who is found with tattoos all over her body. They are a message to an FBI agent who must follow the clues to solve cases before something terrible happens. The person who supplied the tattoos is unknown. From just a little bit of what we saw it appears the woman may know that she is part of something, but realizes she must take a mind erasing drug to forget everything she knows. So we have to think every episode we are going to follow the tattoos rushing to solve the riddle before something absolutely awful happens. Feel a little like the Blacklist?

What this show doesn't have yet is 2 compelling lead actors. So far I see a Jamie Alexander, Aka Jane Doe who is pretty convincing as a woman devastated over what is happening to her. You see her looking at herself and her tattoos and she is confused. She also is very strong willed and wants to be a part of the efforts to figure out what is happening to her. So she forces her way into the investigation and becomes an "investigator" instead of a victim. Her FBI agent counterpart is a little dry. I am hoping he finds his personality soon. I will say even without much personality there is chemistry between the two of them. That makes for good television: two attractive people with chemistry, throw in a little mystery and violence and you have yourself a very good television show.

I am interested to see where it goes. My husband right away said he thinks it will be the same story every week. He says the same about the Blacklist. I fear he is right. I can deal with the same story if the characters develop as we go. I only watch Blacklist for the characters, and the long-winded strories James Spader never fails to provide during every episode. Apparently I am attracted to that type of writing because many of my shows have speechy characters in them. I don't see FBI guy, I think they call him Kurt Weller in Blindspot giving many long-winded speeches. Hopefully he will be doing more then giving orders in future episodes. I need some emotion!

So you don't have anything new to watch this fall, Blindspot may be for you. Make a minute, check it out. Follow the tatoos, enjoy the mystery and the action, and who knows maybe they will do a Blacklist crossover episode.
More Zombies, more crazy killing around every turn. I didn't think it was something I needed on my DVR. Then I was told it was going to tell me why The Walking Dead exists. What started the whole epidemic in the first place. So I decided to watch. The first two episodes were slow with very specific story telling. They set up the family, introduced us to the people that we are going to care about, showed us some of the first cases of the illness that turned people into Zombies. We saw the confusion, rioters taking to the streets, while police try to take control. Then we saw sick people being shot, and getting back up again because no one understands how to kill those infected. The set up was slow in some parts, maybe enough to have people turn away. All I can say is if you are a walking dead fan, you are not going anywhere.

It was the third episode that really got me. It just aired this past Sunday. I found myself holding my breath as people were searching their houses, afraid of what they might find. I, at one point, had my hands in front of my face, afraid of what I might see. Now I have watched the Walking Dead, so nothing should shock me, but this did startle me a few times. It was that horror movie scary moment when something jumps out at you that you weren't expecting, and it's just the dog! I don't want to give too much away if you haven't had a chance to watch.

I know this first season of Fear the Walking Dead is only scheduled for 6 episodes. Then there will be a second season. We are already 3 episodes in, so there is a little work to do. I am interested in what they think caused this to happen, and I hope it isn't too Sy-fi. I do not do Sy-fi. Well, maybe I do now.

So far I like the actors, I am trying to get use to the drug addict son (Nick). I guess his erratic behavior is there to add more chaos to an already crazy situation. His mom (Madison) and sister (Alicia) are trying to wean him off the drugs that he is on. Apparently they have done this before, so they seem to have the situation under control. It may be the only thing they can control, at this point. In the meantime, the mom's boyfriend (Travis) is collecting his son (Chris), and his ex-wife (Liza), so they are now along for the ride. It will increase tensions, and add emotion which is always good television.

I am reading ratings are slipping, but this show is up against Football. So that could be part of the problem. Another problem, it started off so slow. It really isn't a show for someone to just tune in for fun. I really feel people who watch have to have some connection to the Walking Dead. I am reading the actors are blah. As I said I think they are acting, cautious, confused and scared. I like Madison (she had a role on Sons of Anarchy). Travis needs a little more emotion. I feel like he is way to calm for this situation.

That brings me to: Good Morning Susan. It was a line in episode 3 that made me laugh. Travis is literally burying his Zombied neighbor, when his other neighbor hisses at him through a garden fence. All Travis says is "Good Morning Susan" and goes back to shoveling. It made me laugh, but I don't know if these people are showing the right emotions for the situation. Although people do handle catastrophe differently. For example Madison was ready to take a hammer and smash in Good Morning Susan's face. I do believe we will see Travis become more of a realist, and less of an optimist. A little like the transition we saw Rick Grimes go through in the Walking Dead. He will have to fight and kill those infected, in order to survive.
Took the summer off (the couch) and spent more time on (the pool deck). Enjoyed the sun and the water, but that means I didn't have time to clear the DVR. I was sad at times, but that's what ON DEMAND is for. I have to say there wasn't really anything to watch, that I felt like talking to you all about. When I made a minute to think about all the shows that have come and gone in the past 4 months, I did realize we can't just wipe it all under the rug without a comment. I was looking back at what I wrote the last time I stopped by the blogger dashboard, and realize "wait a minute, I do have something to say."

First let's talk Justified. You know years invested into a television show may translate to years of wasted to some. To me it's just another one of life's privileges. To have the time to sit and watch a television show for 6 seasons. A show that was good, if not great the majority of the time. For those who never watched, don't look away! This is a show I recommend to everyone looking for something good to watch. You can load it up on Netflix, or maybe you have some other secret source to watch your television. No matter where you go, you will not be disappointed.

Now if you never watched, or if you are like me and just way behind everyone else... look away!!! What a satisfying ending for a show that had so much back and forth for me. I was constantly changing sides. First I was team Raylan, then team Boyd. I changed teams pretty regular for 6 seasons. I have to say I loved both of these characters, so it was hard to pick sides. You can't help but love Boyd. Walton Goggins is great in everything I have seen. I can't wait to see what he does next.

As for his character, Boyd Crowder, the jail cell was the only place for him. I guess the ground was another option. Through the entire final season it was unclear if my two favorite guys would come out of the fight alive. You could tell from the beginning it was being set up as a final duel, where only one of them would come out alive. In the end they both survived, and ended up just right where they should have. Boyd behind bars, and Raylan moving on.

Now I wasn't all that happy to see Ava getting off scot-free. Raylan told Boyd she was dead. To see him hurting behind bars was fitting. The truth is she was in hiding, raising her and Boyd's child. Raylan was able to track her down and see her before he left. He insured her that he would keep her secret and never tell Boyd the truth. Part of me has to think in a Justified Reboot, Ava gets what's coming to her. Why couldn't she and Boyd just ride off into the sunset. I guess that wouldn't have been Justified.

As for Raylan he moves on, but things aren't perfect. He is still pretty surly in the final scenes as he talks to Winona about his daughter,Willa. You can tell the two are not together, but raising the child as co-parents. I guess that is fitting too. If he would have moved quicker, he could have had that happily ever after. Raylan was all about Raylan and he had work to finish and finish it he did.

Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00977648990465923616noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6556147252246733844.post-1801222769071277902015-05-18T06:54:00.000-07:002015-05-18T06:54:05.359-07:00Looks like we are going to have to dance it outThat's how Grey's Anatomy chose to ends it's season: Dancing it out. You may remember Christina and Meredith dancing it out in past episodes. So when the going gets tough, the tough Dance it out? Maybe a lesson everyone should remember? I am thinking they should have ended the season 2 episodes ago. When they had Meredith go through an entire year in one episode the show should have been over. They could have picked up the rest of it when they came back.

They did show Richard and Catherine tying the knot, which I think is a good thing, but I am not sure where it goes from here. Jo and Alex are going to get their own place, or at least that's what we think is going to happen. I still feel there is more to this storyline. I am still questioning if they can survive the tornado of Meredith and her 3 children. Meredith is returning home and I am assuming she will take Amelia with her, after she sells the beautiful house Derek and she shared together. I am disappointed that she would take that beautiful home away from her children. I understand it reminds her of her dead husband, but it's something he created, something he loved, something he wanted them to have.

I found the episode very dissappointing. One thing I don't even know how to address is April and Jackson. For the real fans, what a terrible way to end a season. Last season we were crying tears of joy after they finally found each other. Since they they got married, broke some hearts, lost a baby, suffered broken hearts, survived April's trip to the war zone, only to fall apart. I just read an interview with the actress who plays April, and she is not leaving the show, so there is more to this storyline. I can even see her deciding to stay. I guess I am just disappointed with how soon we are pulling apart a who finally got together.

Owen and Amelia will get their time together. The last few scenes showed that she needs him and that is good to see. I liked seeing Molly leaning on Meredith, but more importantly I loved seeing Meredith offering a shoulder to Molly. Wouldn't it be nice if Meredith were someone's "person" instead of her always needing a person. This new sister sister relationship may make it possible for Alex to get away. I still think it will be hard for him to break free from the ties that bind him, Meredith, Christina and Izzy.

As for next season: Bailey: Chief of Surgery- don't care. I hope they don't spend too much time on that next season. I have said this before: Arizona should go,but Callie is one of the best actresses on the show, so she should stay, but find happiness. Guy, Girl who cares, just keep that girl smiling. If we are getting rid of a main character per season... I would put the target on ? Hmmm I don't really have a target. I think it is sad to say there isn't one character whose death would rock the show. Derek may have been the last. Maybe Richard. When we saw him shocked laying in a puddle of water not too long ago, I was deeply affected. He's been around since the beginning....something to ponder.

I wonder how this series is going out in the very end. It may be time to start crafting that ride into the sunset. If you stretch these characters out too much, the end doesn't have a real impact. This show deserves a good dramatic ending. Watching the end of Parenthood and crying my eyes out. Seeing the end of Revenge and thinking - that was a great wrap. That's what Grey's deserves.
Well, with the way my schedule is going it's been so hard to watch a show every week. So recently I took that trip into the basement (the basement DVR records Secrets and Lies -- because my upstairs one is full! Hence the blog.) Back on track, while enjoying the break from the heat, I binge watched and was very impressed.

After watching, I have to wonder if a show would be as exciting if we didn't get a chance to binge watch, you know watch the show one episode after another. It's the same as watching a movie I guess. When you sit to watch a motion picture and it's exciting, you sit on the edge of your seat, hold your breath and wait for the excitement to pass. With 1 hour television shows, the excitement may end, mid excitement and make you wait until next week until you see how it ends. But the DVR and Netflix has changed watching hour long shows. Now when the excitement builds, we can just push play on the next episode, and the next. So before we know it we have been sitting there for 4 hours.

Back to Secrets and Lies. I would love to know if anyone else liked it as much as I did. I thought the story started off strong, and stayed strong through out. I loved Juliette Lewis' character. Loved and hated I guess. I thought she did a fabulous job. I did think Ben could use some work on his emotional acting, especially the crying, but I got past that pretty quickly. Ryan Phillippe is an old favorite of mine. KaDee Strickland was great in Private Practice, so I was so happy to see her again. Her struggle with her emotions were great. I loved that she tried to stay strong and stand by her man, but ultimately decided it was just too much to take. The show brought to the table an unique understanding of what happens to a person when they are accused of a crime. Killing a child is the crime, but from the beginning you knew Ben didn't do it, but in the eyes of many -- it didn't matter. So you felt bad for him, but then you learn he cheated on his wife, fathered a baby with his mistress and watch him tell one lie after another. You start to wonder if maybe he is bringing this on himself.

It is a typical back and forth. Where you root for the good guy, but then you wonder if he is the bad guy, then you wonder if it matters, if he is good or bad, because he is so stupid. And then there is Dave. Gotta love Dave. The highly dysfunctional friend, who is there to help, to hurt, and to save the day.

Now if you didn't watch the finale you should stop reading now. I loved the way things turned out. You got a glimpse of real kid krazy. The girl was so jealous of loosing her dad's attention, that she took the neighbor boy out. At first you believe the story she tells, calling it an "accident." But then Detective Cornell reminds us of her experience with cases like this, and she insists it was premeditated. You think that is crazy, until the very end when little Abby Crawford says "none of this would have happened if I gotten him to the river." Ok crazy!

What's next for Abby, well there is a sneak peak of what's to come on ABC's website. Check it out. I did read recently the show was renewed (that goodness). So that means more Secrets and Lies to come. The world wouldn't revolve without them.
I saw the writing on the wall. Thanks for the memoriesAll this time, hours and hours spent watching a show where "today was a good day to save lives," apparently the good days ran out. Grey's Anatomy showed us one of our favorites could not be saved. If you watch Grey's Anatomy all the time you should have seen this coming. Rumors have been flying for years, that Meredith and Derek were leaving. Then you heard Derek was leaving. Then you saw them both still there. The story line was leaning towards Derek's departure. I thought that as soon as he was considering taking the Washington job. I was confident the only way out for him was death. I guess I was right. How can a show called Grey's Anatomy go on without Grey?

So it is set to go on.. at least that's what it looks like. Several characters are signed on through the 12 season although ABC has not renewed the show. I think the 2 hour show last week really does leave us feeling a little complete. I guess this way if ABC says no dice, then fans can feel a little closure. For the huge long time fan, like myself, I am surprised that I am saying I could go either way. Are there things I would like to happen- sure.. but if they never do I would be fine.

I think it's going to be hard seeing Meredith move on. I am reading the fan pages saying Meredith should hook up with Alex. Really? I don't know how well that goes over for the Meredith/Derek club. I guess some just want Meredith to be happy. I have to ask the question, can she be happy? These last few seasons Crabby Meredith has drove me crazy. I have to say Derek died and I felt bad for everyone but Meredith. Maybe she should have loved him with everything she had, while he was there. Instead she bitched, and moaned, and complained, and climbed in bed with Christina/Alex to talk about everything that bothered her. Toward the end you saw her come to a realization of sorts. You think "oh my, she might finally see that if she stops yelling and complaining, she would really enjoy her life." Oh know it's too late- Derek's dead, life's over!

The ratings are down a little, says the internet, but still strong. So Season 12 will probably be a reality. I am excited to see where this show goes from here. I am hoping they take Meredith and make her the character that we loved in the beginning. Maybe now she will appreciate what she has, stop thinking so negatively about everything and be that strong, capable, loving mother we all hope for her children. Or maybe she'll get Alzheimer's and it will be one tragedy after another for Meredith Grey and this will be the one primetime drama we never forget. That Shonda Rhimes sure does know how to destroy a beautifully complicated character.

So I have said my peace. Good-bye to McDreamy, Hello to new and improved Meredith. Then it's the rest of the cast we have to worry about. You saw Richard and Dr. Catherine Avery are getting married. Does that mean Debbie Allen will be on the show more? There are rumblings about bringing Meredith and Alex closer, what does this mean for Jo? Amelia and Meredith have a one on one tomorrow night. What does the future hold for these two characters. Amelia has about a thousand different things going on in her head, I wish Owen could find someone a little more stable. Then there is Jackson and April, she went to a war torn country to get herself together. Together usually means boring, so I hope there is a plan there. And then you have Callie and Arizona. Separate but together, they need to have some drama or one needs to be offered a job, very far away.

You see the way I look at it, the two hour episode last week could have been a Series finale, but there is another episode tomorrow so like you I will be watching. I can only hope it's not all down hill from here.
If you are all caught up you saw Meredith call Derek and a woman answered his phone. After many minutes of her asking "who is this?" the woman on the other end hung up. The episode left us doubting Derek Shepard and his ability to be faithful to his wife. Now Meredith will go down that road, saying Derek was with Addison when he was with Meredith, but if I remember that correctly Addison cheated on Derek. I guess what I am saying is for a long time viewer that analogy is not going to get me to: McDreamy's a cheater. The long time viewer and rational person in me says, just because Patrick Dempsey doesn't want to be a part of the show anymore doesn't mean we have to make him the bad guy. I really think there is much better drama to be written then this.

Maybe this is the first step in the road that has Meredith leaving as well. I know "Grey's Anatomy with no Grey" it is hard to imagine. I have felt it is happening, it just feels like a very slow pull of the band-aid. I am really ok with her leaving, I feel like her character really needs to lighten up a little and stop bitching about everything. I can't imagine how hard it is to be "her person." If she leaves, we would still be left with one heck of a cast that is still watchable with the right stories. I do believe it may be time for the Grey train to head off to Washington and save her marriage. I am sure people need great surgeons there as well. Another possibility is for her to run off and meet up with Christina and the two can be life partners. They can be each other's person forever!

I am liking the new characters, while still enjoying some of the old. A couple of episodes ago, when Amelia was getting ready to do the surgery on Gina Davis' character, I was about ready to blog a very negative stance on this show in general. How does Amelia come back into the picture and becomes the focus of our attention? I just couldn't get past how many times she was telling me how great she was. Well half way into the episode my mine changed. That part when she questioned hersef and Richard came into the OR. It was the perfect move to remind us and her that she is not the greatest. Great yes, but not the greatest. It made me like her again. I really feel like these writers are inside my head.

Also placing Amelia with Owen is brilliant. We feel sorry for him, we have felt a little sorry for her in the past. Now I watched Private Practice, so no one know Amelia Shepard like I do. I know her pain, and the fact that she has come back and can act so self righteous at times is pretty amazing to me. Owen, all Grey's Anatomy watchers know his pain. His most recent loss of Christina was what was best for him, but he still suffered. So we suffered with him. It will be great to see him happy and her happy as well.

What's next for April and Jackson, Derek and Meredith? I am waiting to see, as well as what's next for Alex and Jo, Callie and Arizona, Bailey and Ben. I have to see we have seen a lot when it comes to these couples. I do feel like when I am watching the show I am not sure how much more there can be. Grey's Anatomy may have run it's course. I feel when I make a minute to push play on my DVR I am not excited about it. I am not on the edge of my seat as I used to. I suppose there may be more to write, but with competition the way it is when it comes to television shows, I just don't know if this show still brings it. I am wondering if it's just because there is too many Shondra Rhimes dramas out there. I don't know how much she has to do with each and every one,but I do feel like this one suffers, at least recently. I will still watch, because I always do, until it's official dead. I am just hoping someone signed a Do Not Resuscitate order so I don't have to suffer.
